My favorite foods are the ones that double as breakfast and dessert. Basically anything with warm fruit, oats, sugar, milk and eggs (think apple crisp, waffles and creme brulee). Today I found some pears and made dessert for breakfast. If you need justification for my morning concoction, here are the facts:
Pecans: Packed with protein, fiber, zinc, thiamin and healthy monosaturated fats.
Plain Yogurt: A good source of calcium, good gut bacteria (probiotic) and protein. Be sure to buy plain and add your own sweetener such as maple syrup or jam.
Pear Pecan Smoothness
- Pecans (raw, soaked)
- Plain Yogurt
- Some form of milk
- Dash each cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamon
Optional: vanilla, maple syrup, ginger (depending on what you’re into)
